How to Change the Standard & Plus Filters on Platinum Pure Reverse Osmosis (RO) System

Today we will be going over the steps on how to change the Standard and Plus Filters on your Platinum Pure Reverse Osmosis system.

Prepare your area by placing towels or paper towels beneath your system to catch any remaining water.

Please note that if you are changing your membrane as well, you must start with the membrane before installing the Standard and Plus filters.

The first step is to shut off the water supply to your system. Locate the shut off valve for your feed and tank, and turn both valves off.
Next, release the pressure in your system by opening the spigot and letting it drip. Once the dripping has stopped, close the spigot.
Remove the old Plus filter by turning it clockwise 90 degrees until it will not turn any further, then pull down.
Now, it is time to begin the flushing procedure. Remove the dust cover and temporarily install the Standard filter into the post filter slot by lining up the 2 inserts on the top of the Standard filter into the corresponding parts on the filter housing. Turn the filter counter clockwise 90 degrees until the filter will not turn any further and the label is facing outward.
Open the spigot, then open and close the tank at 3 second intervals until the water runs clear.
Once the water runs clear, close the tank and wait for the water to stop dripping. Once the dripping has stopped, close the spigot.
Remove the old Standard filter from the pre filter spot by turning it clockwise 90 degrees until it will not turn any further, then pull down.
Now, remove the Standard filter from the post filter slot and reinstall it on the Pre filter slot.
Install the Plus filter onto the post filter slot and repeat the flushing process, leaving the spigot on when done.
After you complete the flushing procedure, you will pressure test the system.

With the spigot on, the tank off and all filters installed, turn the feed back on.
Once the proper flow has been established, turn the spigot off.
Let the system pressure up for 10 minutes, checking thoroughly for any leaks. If no leaks are detected, you can open the tank and begin the final flush.
Let the tank fill for one hour, then open the spigot and drain the tank until the stream of water returns to a steady trickle.
After the system has drained, turn the spigot off and let the tank fill up again.
Your Platinum Pure Reverse Osmosis system is ready to be used again.
